AHLY LEGEND CLAIMS THAT PITSO IS ON HIS WAY OUT

Image
It seems like failing to clinch the Egyptian Premier League and Super Cup, led to fans, Al Ahly legends, to have hostility with Pitso Mosimane. The Egyptian News Company King Fut recently reported claims by the club's legend that Jingles might be on his way out courtesy of recent performances. “I have confirmed information from inside the club that Reda Shehata [El-Gouna head coach] will join Al-Ahly’s technical staff [To replace Cavin Johnson],” Hanafy told Al-Hayah TV according to the  KingFut website . “I feel that Mosimane will not continue with Al Ahly, the team’s performance isn’t reassuring and I don’t feel that the players are improving. “The performance has become very routine, any team that will face Al Ahly will close its defensive line and the Reds will struggle and will win with a lot of difficulties. “I doubt that Mosimane will continue with Al Ahly, there is something going on in Germany [alluding to the rumor that Cairo giants are in negotiations with a German...

Swallows CEO Sipho Xulu said they put coach Brandon Truter on a "special leave" due to personal reasons according Kick Off Magazine. "The coach is on leave," Xulu told  Kickoff.com. "But as you know there's this thing called employer/employee confidentiality. So the coach is on leave due to personal reasons. "An agreement has been reached between him and the club for him to be on leave because of those reasons. "So we have to respect the agreement between the club and the employee. What I know is that he will be on leave for a short period then will return, it's not like he has been placed on indefinite l...

Why we lost to Royal AM - Baxter

Image
Photo credit - Kick Off Magazine Stuart Baxter feels that the nervousness and lack of quality were the factors behind their massive loss on Saturday. Kaizer Chiefs suffered a huge blow when they lost 4-1 to Royal AM on Saturday that left fans severely disappointed. Many cried out about Stuart Baxter's tactics overlooking the likes of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, a ball player with numerous capabilities. Chiefs' Pathutshedzo Nange got injured before the end of first half and the Scottish replaced him with Akumu Agay. According to fans, "that was a defensive approach". However, Baxter shared his thoughts about the game. "I thought ght the first 30 minutes of the game  we picked up a little bit where we left off (against Mamelodi Sundowns a week earlier). The structure and the movement were quite good. We were creating chances, but again we failed to take them,” Baxter said. “We gave up a rather unnecessary and sloppy goal from our side. We again get into a situation where...

BAXTER COMMENTS ON NGCOBO'S DEBUT

Image
Fans have been calling out the name of Njabulo Ngcobo demanding him on the team sheet. Stuart Baxter eventually let him in this past weekend with Kaizer Chiefs whipped 4-1 by Royal AM.  The former Swallows defender didn't have the best game with the whole Amakhosi team being awful in the day. Baxter says it doesn't help him when people are screaming his name because he still has to get used. “I’ve been saying all along, Njabulo has had to get used to his teammates, he’s got to get used to way we play, he’s got to accommodate our build-up play with his own qualities,” Baxter said after the match. “And he’s going to make mistakes, he’s going to give us some strength but – the same as every player – I think the screaming after ‘push him in, push him in’ doesn’t help him. It doesn’t help anybody. “I gave him the game tonight because I thought it was the right game to go in. I wanted him to drive forward a little bit with the ball on his side and dominate a little bit, because of th...

"It's an embarrassment"-Baxter

Kaizer Chiefs were hammered 4-1 at home by Royal AM making it two losses in a raw after last week's. Amakhosi's head coach Stuart Baxter wasn't a happy man and says this was an embarrassment. "I think it's not only a hard defeat, it's an embarrassment. I think the first 20 minutes of the game we picked up where we left off [against Sundowns]," Baxter told SuperSport TV. "The structure was good, the passing was good, we created a couple of chances but give away a silly goal again, the we chased the game, we have to chase the game. "The naivety of the players as the game went on was astounding really and we never really looked like getting back into it "You know we get a goal back, 2-1, we've changed about four different positions, then you lose a little bit of cohesion and you hoping you get fresh legs but we never really looked... our naivety again when we gave away the last couple of goals, when we were chasing the game. "Whe...

"We want to finish in top 4" - Tinkler

The last time Cape Town City lifted silverware was when they won MTN 8 in 2018 under Benni McCarthy's leadership. Eric Tinkler is in his second stint as Citizens head coach. He has come out to say they want to finish within top four this season. "We've set ourselves the target and objective to try and finish in the top four," CT City head coach Eric Tinkler said. "For me, it has always been about wanting to win trophies and achieve things. "In my first spell with Cape Town City we managed to win the Telkom Knockout, we managed to finish third in the league, and now it's about getting the belief into all of the players in the squad and making them aware that Cape Town City is no longer a stepping stone to better things." "Cape Town City is a club that is very, very ambitious and wants to win things and the squad that we have built needs to believe that they are good enough to achieve those objectives," he added. "That's been...
